Journal of European Integration History

Revue d'Histoire de l'Intégration Européenne

Zeitschrift für Geschichte der europäischen Integration

History of European Integration has become a major field of contemporary historical research. Based on access to recently opened archives of the member states and of the European Communities this new scholarship essentially contributes to an understanding of both 20th century history and the current problems of the European Union.

Being the first historical journal to deal exclusively with the history of European integration, the Journal offers an international forum to promote this research across national and disciplinary boundaries. Its purpose is to encourage the analysis and understanding of different aspects of European integration, especially since 1945, in a perspective as wide as possible. The Journal of European History publishes the conclusions of reserach on diplomatic, military, economic, technological, social and cultural aspects of integration. Issues devoted either to one distinct theme or to a variety of different topics are published in English, French or German. Each issue includes reviews of important, relevant publications. The Journal is published twice a year by the European Union Liaison Committee of Historians, an independent group of distinguished historians in the field of European integraion history.
